Keep your LP Catalog in sync – Best Practices

The LP team has just released a new help doc about how LP keeps your catalog in sync with marketplaces and what you can do to keep everything working well.

We encourage anyone who is or would like to manage inventory, mark Sold, end listings and more with the LP Catalog to review it here.

Having the correct item ID tied to your listing is critical to ending listings, marking sold, and overall managing your inventory.

Lately we’ve been seeing a rise in tickets related to not using best practices when using the LP Catalog. Nearly every case that our support team troubleshoots is due to delisting and relisting using some other method besides LP and not updating the new IDs in LP.  Note that:

If you are relisting using any other method besides LP and not updating the LP Catalog with the new item IDs, we can’t keep track of listings, end them or mark them sold.

This can happen if you relist directly on the marketplace, or some other method and do not update your listing in the LP catalog with the new ID that’s been assigned from the marketplace.

Custom Marketplace Updates

We are excited to bring some additional updates to the “custom marketplace” options for Business and Pro Plan members.

Now you will be able to apply custom marketplace filters to your LP Catalog to filter based on those additions and also have the ability to edit any custom marketplace that has been added. Please note that changing custom marketplace names will result in updating all listings with that custom marketplace.

    • General – New message and alert will be displayed when the LP extension version updates automatically or when adding a new version to your browser and tabs are active that need to be refreshed to apply the update. Confirming will apply the update and declining will require the tabs to reloaded manually. This will allow users an opportunity to save any work they may be in the middle of prior to updating and refreshing tabs.

Images not Copying when Importing from eBay

eBay has made some recent changes to their image manager that has caused an interruption with images not copying to List Perfectly, at times.

Images not Crossposting to eBay.

When crossposting from List Perfectly to eBay, some users are experiencing an issue where the listings photos are not crossposting. This could be caused by having "Alternate Image Upload" enabled in the LP extension settings.

As a workaround, please disable the "Alternate Image Upload" setting in your LP extension and reattempt to crosspost to eBay to ensure this resolves the issue for you.

To adjust this setting, please click the LP icon located in the top right corner of your browser > Choose "Settings" > Click the eBay tab > Disable "Alternate image upload".

Shopify

No Confirmation Message Received when Ending Listings on Shopify

Shopify has made some recent updates on their end and it is currently causing an interruption with the confirmation message being received when ending listings and is also interrupting the extension from being able to update the platform status column in LP. Listings continue to be removed from the Shopify platform when ending listings.

As a temporary workaround, please update the platform status column in your catalog by removing the Shopify platform from the linked marketplaces (this only applies if you have ended your listing on Shopify and still see the Shopify icon under the platform status column).

Listings not Linking Upon Publishing to Depop

Depop has made an update to their listing flow that is currently causing an interruption with the listing ID being gathered and stored to the LP catalog.

Images not copying to Depop

Depop has made some updates to their listing form that is causing an issue with images not copying to Depop. The first image will copy, but all remaining images will not copy into the listing form on Depop.

Crossposting to Mercari Interrupted 

Users are intermittently experiencing an issue when crossposting to Mercari with an "Oops! Something wrong happened. Please try again." error message. Currently, the Recopy button does not resolve this error.

Crossposting and no details copying

We have identified an issue when crossposting from the new catalog (my.listperfectly.com) with the Simple, that is causing an interruption with the details crossposting to any marketplace.

As a temporary workaround, please crosspost your listings from https://app.listperfectly.com until a fix for this has been released.

Additionally, you can switch to the grid view by clicking the grid or 9 square icon in the top right corner of the new catalog.

Poshmark not Loading

It appears that Poshmark is currently experiencing some technical issues on their end that is preventing users from being able to access Poshmark.com.

Some users are experiencing an issue where the description in eBay is being removed when attempting to publish the listing.

As a temporary workaround, when you crosspost your listing to eBay, simply click in the description box and click anywhere outside of the description box.  This will "set" the listing.

eBay has made some recent updates that is causing the crosspost to stop on the "Start your listing" page.

Fixed in beta version

As a temporary workaround to continue with the crosspost, simply click the blue search button. Your listing details and images should now copy into the listing form on eBay so you can review and publish your listing(s).
